1. Appointment of Mark Preston as a non-executive director
Persimmon Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Preston as non-executive Director with effect from 9 January 2012.
Mark Preston (43), a chartered surveyor, is the Group Chief Executive of Grosvenor Group Limited, an appointment he took up in 2008. He is also a non-executive Director of Sonae Sierra SGPS.
Nicholas Wrigley, Chairman of Persimmon, said: "We are delighted to welcome Mark to the Board. He has a wealth of experience and expertise which will be of great benefit to Persimmon as we continue to develop our business."
No further information is required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13.
2. Director - change of responsibilities
With effect from 9 January 2012 Jeff Fairburn (45), will be promoted to Group Managing Director with responsibility for Group operational functions and management of the Group's strategic land portfolio.
Jeff joined Persimmon in 1989 and was appointed to the Board on 1 June 2009. He will continue as North Division Chief Executive.
Mike Farley, Group Chief Executive of Persimmon said: "Jeff has been with Persimmon for over 20 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this important newly created role. I'm confident that he will bring even greater focus to the key areas of strategic land and operational efficiency that are vital to the Group's continued success."

Mark Preston (43), a chartered surveyor, is the Group Chief Executive of Grosvenor Group Limited. Mark joined Grosvenor in the UK in 1989 and became Chief Executive of Grosvenor Britain & Ireland in 2006 and Group Chief Executive in 2008.
