Persimmon PLC ('Persimmon' or the 'Company')

The Company was informed on 15 October 1999 of the following share purchases
by Mr John Millar (a director of the Company) and his wife:-

On 29 September 1999 Mr J Millar acquired 241 and 593 Persimmon Ordinary
Shares at a price of 220.25p and 221p respectively.

On 5 October 1999 Mrs D Millar acquired 839 Persimmon Ordinary Shares at a
price of 219.25p.

As a result of these transactions Mr Millar (and his family) is interested in
a total of 318,126 Persimmon Ordinary Shares.
