PERSIMMON PLC ('the Company')

The Company was informed yesterday that on 15 November 1999 Mr David Thompson
(a non-executive director of the Company) purchased for his three daughters a
total of 7,000 Persimmon ordinary shares at a price of 226.5p.  Mr Thompson
and his family now hold 19,000 Persimmon ordinary shares.
