Persimmon PLC ('Persimmon' or the 'Company')

The Company was informed on 7 April 2000, that on that day, Mr John White (a
director of the Company) acquired a total of 28,000 ordinary shares in
Persimmon at 176p per share.

Following this purchase Mr White (and family) is interested in 289,496 shares
representing 0.16 per cent. of the issued share capital of the Company.
