Director's shareholding

The Company received notification today that on 5 April 2000 Mr David G Bryant
(a director of the Company) and his wife each sold 3,650 ordinary shares in
the Company at a price of 185p per share.  On 6 April 2000, Mr Bryant and his
wife each bought in an ISA 3,650 ordinary shares in the Company at a price of
185p per share.

As a result of these transactions Mr Bryant's beneficial holding remains
unchanged.
