Directors' Share Sale

On 29 May 2003, Persimmon plc (the 'Company') was informed that on that day, Mr
DH Davidson, Non-Executive Chairman, had sold 800,000 ordinary shares in the
Company, at an average price of 448p. The resultant notifiable interest of Mr D
H Davidson is 16,605,830 shares, or 5.9% of the issued share capital of the
Company.

Mr D H Davidson has informed the Company that he has no present intention of
selling further shares.
