Directors' Share Purchases - Replacement

Further to the announcement released at 09:39 on 6 November 2002 under RNS
number 4142D, the following change has been made: the word 'Chief' has been
inserted into the first line of the second paragraph. The rest of the text
remains unaltered.

On 5th November 2002, Persimmon plc (the 'Company') was informed that on the 4th
and 5th November 2002, Mr D H Davidson, Non-Executive Chairman, had purchased
20,000 ordinary shares in the Company, at an average price of 410.9p. The
resultant notifiable interest of Mr D H Davidson is 17,318,466 shares, or 6.3%
of the issued share capital of the Company.

Also on 5th November 2002, the Company was informed that on the 4th and 5th
November 2002, Mr J White, Group Chief Executive, had purchased 60,000 ordinary
shares in the Company, at an average price of 410.9p. The resultant notifiable
holding for Mr J White is 526,957 shares or 0.2% of the issued share capital of
the Company.
