Persimmon PLC ('Persimmon' or 'the Company')

Persimmon received notification on 26 July 2000 that FMR Corp, parent holding
company  of  Fidelity  Management & Research Company  ('FMRCO')  and  Fidelity
Management Trust Company ('FMTC'), and Fidelity International Limited  ('FIL')
parent  holding company for various direct and indirect subsidiaries including
Fidelity  Investment  Services Limited ('FISL'), Fidelity  Pension  Management
Limited  ('FPM'),  and Mr Edward C Johnson 3rd (principal shareholder  of  FMR
Corp  and  Fidelity International Limited), collectively have an  interest  in
20,089,158 ordinary Persimmon shares, representing 11.0 per cent. of the total
issued ordinary share capital of the Company.  These shares are registered  as
