          Recommended Final* offer for Beazer Group Plc ('the Offer')


Persimmon announces that the offer document, together with listing
particulars, in relation to the Offer by ABN AMRO Corporate Finance Limited on
behalf of Persimmon for Beazer announced on 24 January 2001, was posted to
Beazer Shareholders yesterday.  The Board of Beazer has unanimously
recommended Beazer Shareholders to accept the Offer.  Forms of Acceptance
should be completed and returned as soon as possible, but in any event so as
to arrive no later than 3.00 p.m. on Friday 26 February 2001.

Also, Persimmon posted yesterday a circular, together with listing
particulars, to its own shareholders convening an Extraordinary General
Meeting for 11.30 a.m. on Wednesday 21 February 2001 to approve the
Acquisition.

The Directors of Persimmon unanimously recommend Persimmon Shareholders to
vote in favour of the Acquisition, as they and certain of their connected
persons intend to do in respect of 19,077,605 Persimmon Shares (representing
approximately 10.43 per cent. of the existing issued share capital of
Persimmon), and urge Persimmon Shareholders to sign and return the form at
proxy for use at that meeting and as soon as possible, but in any event so as
to be received no later than 11.30 a.m. on Monday 19 February 2001.
