Board Changes
Persimmon, one of the UK's leading housebuilders, having successfully
implemented its recent regional reorganisation, announces changes to its Main
Board to position the group for continued growth.
Mike Allen (Deputy Chairman), Brian Taylor (Non-executive director) and Harry
Littlefair (Non-executive director) will all retire from the Board on 31st
December 2000. Their combined service to Persimmon spans over 52 years.
Duncan Davidson, Chairman and founder of Persimmon, will one year later become
non-executive Chairman on 31st December 2001.
Geoff Grewer (Company Secretary) will retire from the Main Board on 31st
December 2001.
The changes to the executive team reflect the successful implementation of the
new divisional structure announced earlier this year. Following these
changes, the Main Board will comprise five executive directors led by John
White as Chief Executive and four non-executive directors under Duncan
Davidson as Chairman.
Commenting on the changes, Duncan Davidson stated:
'The Board would like to thank each of Mike Allen, Brian Taylor and Harry
Littlefair for their significant contributions to the development of
Persimmon. As we enter a new phase of growth, I am confident that the new
management structure and our Main Board, comprising five executive and four
non-executive Directors, will ensure that Persimmon is well placed to grow
successfully over future years.'
