Duncan Davidson, Chairman of Persimmon commented:

'Persimmon welcomes today's decision by Bryant to delay its EGM. We are
excited by the compelling industrial logic that a Persimmon/Beazer tie-up
would offer and, as we said this morning, we intend to make an indicative
offer to the Beazer board by Friday, 19 January 2001.'
