PERSIMMON PLC
CURRENT TRADING STATEMENT
I am pleased to confirm that sales of our homes in 2000 are at a record level
with sales revenue currently 16% ahead of last year at £457m. Margins also
continue to rise.
This time last year we announced a new operating subsidiary, Persimmon (City
Developments) Limited. The aim of this company is to carry out redevelopment
work within major cities in the UK. The launch of our first major City
Developments scheme in Glasgow created unprecedented interest, resulting in
sales of £12m being realised in the first week of release.
Demand remains strong in all regions and the outlook is very encouraging. We
are confident that as long as the market continues at current levels, another
record performance will be achieved in 2000.
