Directorate changes

As previously announced, the Board of Personal Assets Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointments of Stuart Paul and Frank Rushbrook as non-executive Directors of the Company with effect from 16 July 2009.

Stuart is Joint Managing Partner of the Asia Pacific Global Emerging Markets equity team at First State Investments and brings with him a wide knowledge of international markets.

Frank is employed by F&C Asset Management plc within the Continental European Small Cap team and co-manages European Assets Trust NV.

There is no further information required to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13 in relation to these appointments.

In addition to these changes, and as previously announced, the Chairman of the Company, Robert White, has retired from the Board following the conclusion of the Company's Annual General Meeting held today, 16 July 2009, and has been succeeded as Chairman by Hamish Buchan. Hamish joined the Board as a non-executive Director on 5 July 2001 and is currently a non-executive Director of Aberforth Smaller Companies plc, Scottish Investment Trust plc, Standard Life European Private Equity Trust plc and Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust plc and Chairman of JPMorgan American Investment Trust plc.
