This announcement replaces the one made at 16:45 today, under the headline Transaction in Own Shares.  The number of shares shown in both the issued Ordinary Shares line and the Ordinary Shares held in Treasury have been updated.  This has also therefore updated the bottom paragraph detailing the number of shares to be used for reporting purposes.
TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES - REPLACEMENT
Personal Assets Trust plc (the "Company") today purchased 125,000 of its own Ordinary shares at a price of 491 pence per share, to be held in Treasury.
Following the transaction, the Company's share capital comprises:
340,228,372 Issued Ordinary Shares (excluding Treasury shares)
52,576,828 Ordinary shares held in Treasury
392,805,200 Issued Ordinary Shares (including Treasury shares)
For reporting purposes under the FCA's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules the market should exclude any Ordinary shares held in Treasury and should use the figure 340,228,372 when determining if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest, in the Company.
