PURCHASE OF OWN SECURITIES



On 12 April 2007 Personal Assets Trust plc bought 393 of its own Ordinary shares
of £12.50 to be held in Treasury at a price of £260.25 each.



The Company's issued share capital consists of 750,911 ordinary shares, of which
22,056 ordinary shares are held in Treasury. Therefore, the total number of
shares with voting rights in Personal Assets Trust plc is 728,855.



The above figure (728,855) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for
the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Personal Assets Trust plc
under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
