PURCHASE OF OWN SECURITIES

On 1 December 2008 Personal Assets Trust plc bought 2,050 of its own Ordinary shares of £12.50 to be held in Treasury at a price of £223.878 each.  

The Company's issued share capital consists of 750,876 ordinary shares, of which 29,299 ordinary shares are held in Treasury. Therefore, the total number of shares with voting rights in Personal Assets Trust plc is 721,577.

The above figure (721,577) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Personal Assets Trust plc under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
