PURCHASE OF OWN SECURITIES

On 13 March 2006 Personal Assets Trust plc bought 228 of its own Ordinary Shares
of £12.50 to be held in treasury at a price of £250.75 each.  There are 731,274
shares in issue and 17,020 shares held in treasury following this transaction.
