APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR

The directors of Personal Group Holdings Plc are pleased to announce the
appointment of Mr Christopher John Curling (Age 52) to the board as a
non-executive director with effect from 1 September 2002.

Mr Curling became a Partner in Osborne Clarke in 1980 and its Senior Partner 
in 1996.
