Petards, the AIM quoted developer of advanced security, communication and surveillance systems, announces that its subsidiary, Petards Joyce-Loebl (PJL), has received orders worth in excess of £0.5 million to supply a UK train builder with Petards eyeTrain systems.

 

The orders are for the supply Petards eyeTrain forward facing and track debris camera systems to enhance the video and data collection capability of additional trains within an existing fleet.  This is forms part of an extension to a significant upgrade programme undertaken by one of the UK's leading rolling stock owners.

 

Activities will commence with a preliminary equipment supply scheduled for late 2024 and the main deliveries anticipated to be completed during the first half of 2025.

Petards Rail supports its customers in maximising passenger safety and optimising train and rail service performance levels through its in-house designed technology that includes Automatic Selective Door Operation, Driver Controlled Operation systems, on-train passenger camera monitoring systems, forward and rear facing cameras, track debris cameras, and pantograph surveillance systems.

 

eyeTrain Connect, Petards back-office software system, provides real-time, accurate analysis rail vehicles and on-board equipment, including status, usage and condition data on a train-by-train level. It allows train operators to monitor and analyse train status, condition, and positional data in real-time to reduce service delays and the risk and impact of incidents. It enables interrogation of historical data to identify trends, analyse incidents and make informed decisions regarding rail fleet performance.

 

Petards have developed its PTeye solution incorporating the latest in AI-ready technology, to prevent passenger "trap and drag" incidents before train dispatch.

 

These systems will be exhibited on Petards stand at Innotrans, the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology, being held in Berlin 24 to 27 September 2024: Stand G-460 Hall 2.2.
