Petra Diamonds Limited announces that on 6 July 2006 1,666,666 new ordinary
shares were issued pursuant to the exercise of warrants.

The shares will rank pari passu with existing ordinary shares and dealings are
expected to commence in the new ordinary shares on AIM and ASX on 12 July 2006.
