Petra Diamonds Limited announces that on 1 October 2007 2,500,000 new ordinary
shares were issued and allotted pursuant to the exercise of warrants.

The shares will rank pari passu with existing ordinary shares and dealings are
expected to commence in the new ordinary shares on AIM on 5 October 2007.
