                          Correction - ASX suspension


On 2 October 2006 the Australian Stock Exchange ('ASX') suspended the Company's
shares from trading on the ASX. The reason given by the ASX for this decision
was that the Company had failed to lodge full year accounts to 30 June 2006 in
accordance with the listing rules of the ASX.



The ASX have now confirmed to the Company that the decision to suspend Petra
Diamonds was an administrative error on their behalf.  The ASX will be
reinstating the Company's shares to quotation on ASX on 4 October 2006.
