Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG: Notification of voting rights pursuant
to § 26 Sect. 1 WpHG

Legg Mason, Inc., located in Baltimore, USA have informed us on
January 20, 2009 pursuant to section 21 (1) of the German Securities
Trading Act (WpHG) that on 9th December, 2008, the stake of Legg
Mason, Inc. in the voting rights in Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG
exceeded the threshold of 3 %. On that date, Legg Mason, Inc. held
3.09 % in relation to all voting rights in Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology
AG (voting rights arising from 276,980 ordinary shares
(Stammaktien)). All voting rights are being attributed to Legg Mason,
Inc. pursuant to section 22 (1) sent. 1 no. 6 WpHG in connection with
section 22 para. 1 sent. 2 of the WpHG.

Royce & Associates, LLC, located in New York, USA have informed us on
January 21, 2009 pursuant to section 21 (1) of the German Securities
Trading Act (WpHG) that on 9th December, 2008, the stake of Royce &
Associates, LLC in the voting rights in Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG
exceeded the threshold of 3 %. On that date, Royce & Associates, LLC
held 3.09 % in relation to all voting rights in Pfeiffer Vacuum
Technology AG (voting rights arising from 276,895 ordinary shares
(Stammaktien)). All voting rights are being attributed to Royce &
Associates, LLC pursuant to section 22 (1) sent. 1 no. 6 WpHG.
