                    Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Soco International plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Robert
Cathery as Non-Executive Director. Mr Cathery has been a member of the London
Stock Exchange since 1967 and is currently a Director and the Head of
Corporate Sales at SG Securities. Mr Cathery is also a Non-Executive Director
of IndigoVision plc.

Mr Ed Story, Chief Executive of SOCO International, commented:
