Appointment of Non-executive Director
SOCO is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Roberts as a Non-executive
Director with immediate effect. Mr Roberts will also sit on the Audit and
Remuneration Committees.
Martin Roberts, aged 60, has had a distinguished 35 year career with Slaughter
and May, a leading international law firm. A Cambridge law graduate, he joined
the firm in 1967 and became a Partner in 1975. A substantial part of his career
was focused on the energy sector and his experience also encompassed a broad
range of practice areas including project finance, mergers and acquisitions,
commercial law and privatisations. Having retired from practice in 2002, he
remains involved in the management of two small family property companies.
Commenting on the appointment, Ed Story, SOCO's Chief Executive, stated:
'We are delighted to have been successful in attracting someone of Martin's
professional standing and experience to our Board. We believe Martin's
extensive background and expertise will not only enable him to make a
significant individual contribution to the Company, but will also provide
complementary skills which will elevate the strength of the full SOCO Board.'
The Company confirms that there are no additional matters requiring disclosure
under Rule 6.F.2 (a) to (g) of the Listing Rules.
