                 Awards under the Company's Long Term Incentive Plan


SOCO announces that Awards under the SOCO International plc Long Term Incentive
Plan were made on 4 December 2002 to Mr Ed Story, Mr Roger Cagle and Mrs Cynthia
Cagle of 118,800, 83,100 and 66,000 ordinary shares of £0.20 each, respectively.
Up to 100% of these awards will be exercisable from 4 December 2005 provided
certain performance conditions are met. At the date of the award the market
price of the ordinary shares was £3.605.
