The Company was notified on 31 October 2002 that Fidelity International Limited,
as parent holding company for various direct and indirect subsidiaries, has
purchased 331,560 Ordinary Shares of 20p each in SOCO (0.46%) and now has a
notifiable interest in 5,017,360 shares registered in the name of Clydesdale
Bank (Head Office) Nominees Limited, representing 7.03% of the issued share
capital of the Company.
