The Company was notified today that on 4 April 2006, Pontoil Intertrade Ltd sold
300,000 SOCO International plc ordinary shares of £0.20 each ('Shares'),
representing 0.41% of the issued share capital of the Company.

Following this transaction, Pontoil Intertrade Ltd holds 14,465,313 Shares,
representing 19.92% of the issued share capital of the Company.
