Pendragon PLC
10 November 2003
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 10 NOVEMBER 2003
Pendragon PLC announced today that it has agreed to sell its Ford dealerships in
Amersham, Aylesbury and High Wycombe to Perrys Motor Sales Limited with
completion due in December 2003. In the first ten months of 2003 these
dealerships contributed turnover of £19.0 million and an operating loss of £0.2
million.
The disposal forms part of our reconfiguration of our Ford group and follows on
from the sale of the North London Ford dealerships and closure of two Ford
satellite dealerships last year.
The objective for our Ford businesses this year was to generate a 1% return on
sales. We have been able to exceed this target ahead of schedule. The disposal
of these dealerships together with the benefits from our central customer
service centre at Loxley House should ensure that we continue to improve the
returns from this part of the group.
