                             PRELIMINARY DIVIDEND

Further to today's preliminary results announcement, the Board of Pendragon
PLC ('Pendragon') announces that the final dividend of 8.8 pence per share
will be paid on 3rd May 2000 to shareholders on the register at 31st March
2000.
