It brings the total number of PipeHawk units ordered by the UKAEA to three, with a total value of £90,000. The PipHawk II system is used to locate current and disused utilities services and other sub-surface objects, thus ensuring safe digging during excavation work. PipeHawk Managing Director Mike Bushell said: 'We are delighted to have received these additional orders from the UKAEA, which reflect a high level of confidence in our technology from a client who operates to rigorous quality standards. In particular, we are aware that the UKAEA sets a high priority on health and safety procedures. It underlines the potential for future sales of PipeHawk II to major facility operators like the UKAEA in addition to our established customer base of contractors and sub-contractors.' The first of the new units will be deployed at the UKAEA Harwell site in Didcot, Oxon, a former World War II airfield and nuclear research establishment now being transformed into a science and technology business centre. The second is being used at Dounreay on the north coast of Scotland for sub-surface detection during maintenance and construction work For further information contact: Mike Bushell, Managing Director, PipeHawk plc: 01420 590990 Tim Blackstone, Blackstone Business Communications: 020 7251 2544 John Finn or Sam Smith, J M Finn & Co: 020 7860 6352 Issued by Blackstone Business Communications This information is provided by RNS The company news service from the London Stock Exchange
