PIPEHAWK plc AGREES CHINA DEAL
Alton-based specialist in Ground Probing Radar, PipeHawk plc, is pleased to
announce that it has reached an agreement which sees Radiodetection (China)
Limited become a distributor for its market leading PipeHawk II Ground Probing
Radar System throughout China and Hong Kong. Engineered to meet the needs of
utilities and construction companies and their contractors, The PipeHawk II
Ground Probing Radar System is a non-invasive detection technology, which
accurately and swiftly pinpoints most types of obstacles underground including
plastic pipes and fibre optic cables.
Part of the US-based SPX Group of Companies, Radiodetection is a leading
manufacturer and supplier of pipeline locating and inspection equipment with a
worldwide presence. Radiodetection (China) Limited sees the addition of
PipeHawk's GPR technology as complementary to its existing product portfolio,
which includes a comprehensive range of location and avoidance, leak detection
and evaluation devices, CCTV inspection systems, flow and pressure management
tools and cleaning machines.
GPR can significantly reduce or eliminate the need for physical trial holes, a
boon in minimising disruption in densely populated urban areas and busy
commercial centres such as central Hong Kong.
The rugged exterior of the PipeHawk II system belies its complex GPR technology
that will accurately identify both the location and the depth of sub-surface
utilities. Influential in its success is the ease of use of the system which
enables the unit to be used almost immediately with minimal training.
Sophisticated system software operated via a simple icon-driven menu presents
raw radar data in a visual form that is easy to interpret. Battery-powered for
portability, the PipeHawk II unit is completely self-contained, with no trailing
wires.
The PipeHawk GPR system has already created considerable interest in the region
through a series of presentations in Hong Kong and China, carried out recently
by Davis Li, Sales Manager for Radiodetection (China) Limited, in conjunction
with PipeHawk to introduce the potential applications of this technology.
As a full service distributor, Radiodetection (China) Limited will handle all
aspects off the pre-and after-sales process, including servicing and
maintenance, with full training provided by newly-appointed engineer Chris Yi.
'This new addition to our range will ensure we continue to offer the most
comprehensive range of advanced technologies to our customer base, providing
maximum flexibility in use and accuracy of information in inspection and
location,' comments C.S. Wu, Managing Director of Radiodetection (China)
Limited.
