Pittards announces that it was informed on 16 May 2000 that Mr J H Buckley,
Group Financial Director, purchased 1,250 ordinary 25p shares in the Company
on 16 May 2000 at a price of 46.75p per share in his Personal Equity Plans. 
Mr Buckley is now deemed to be beneficially interested in 64,177 ordinary
shares, representing approximately 0.3 per cent. of the entire issued share
capital.
