Appointment of Independent Non-Executive Director

The Board of Polar Capital Global Financials Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Simon Cordery as an independent, non-executive director, such appointment to become effective on 1 July 2019.

Mr Cordery has almost 40 years' experience working within financial services of which nearly 30 years have been focused on the wealth management industry. Most recently he was Head of Investor Relations and Sales at BMO Global Asset Management (formerly F&C Asset Management), where he spent almost 25 years in senior roles, and previously he held roles with Invesco Fund Managers, Jefferies & Co, Kleinwort Benson Securities and Rea Bros Merchant Bank. Mr Cordery has considerable and detailed knowledge of the investment trust industry and remains actively involved with the Association of Investment Companies.

A resolution proposing the election of Mr Cordery as a non-executive director will be put to shareholders at the next Annual General Meeting of the Company due to be held in April 2020.
