POLAR CAPITAL GLOBAL HEALTHCARE GROWTH AND INCOME TRUST PLC ("the Company")

Transaction in own shares  

3 February 2014                                                

The Company has today bought back 100,000 Ordinary shares of 25p each in the capital of the Company at a price of 144.75 pence per Ordinary share. The Ordinary shares bought back will be placed in Treasury.

As a result of the above transaction, the Ordinary shares in issue, shares held in Treasury, and the Total Voting Rights of the Company are now as follows:

Number of Ordinary Shares in issue:                                                                    120,056,136

Number of Ordinary Shares held in treasury:                                                               100,000

Total Voting Rights attaching to Ordinary shares in issue:                                 119,956,136
