POLAR CAPITAL GLOBAL HEALTHCARE GROWTH AND INCOME TRUST PLC ("the Company")

Transaction in own shares  

6 February 2014                                                

The Company has today agreed to buy back 550,000 Ordinary shares of 25p each in the capital of the Company at a price of 144.0p pence per ordinary share. The ordinary shares bought back will be placed in Treasury.

As a result of the above transaction, the ordinary shares in issue, shares held in Treasury, and the Total Voting Rights of the Company are now as follows:

Number of Ordinary Shares in issue:                                                        122,650,000

Number of Ordinary Shares held in treasury:                                                 650,000

Total Voting Rights attaching to Ordinary shares in issue:                     122,000,000
