Henderson Technology Trust plc ('HTT') announces that it has appointed Polar
Capital Partners Limited ('Polar Capital') as its manager in place of
Henderson Global Investors Limited ('Henderson').

Polar Capital is the new company established by HTT's principal fund managers
Brian Ashford-Russell and Tim Woolley, together with Caledonia Investments
plc. The Board had previously stated its intention to terminate HTT's
management agreement with Henderson in its announcement of 25 September 2000
and stated that its independent directors were committed to retaining the
services of Mr. Ashford-Russell and Mr. Woolley as HTT's principal fund
managers.

The new management agreement between HTT and Polar Capital is on substantially
the same commercial terms, including the management fee and performance fee,
as set out in the Annual Report and Accounts of HTT for the year ended 30
April 2000.

The Board of HTT intends to convene an Extraordinary General Meeting of HTT's
shareholders to be held on or before Tuesday 10 April 2001 at which a
resolution will be proposed to change the name of HTT to Polar Capital
Technology Trust plc. A circular containing the notice convening the
Extraordinary General Meeting is intended to be sent to HTT's shareholders on
or before Friday 16 March 2001.

Further details regarding the steps to be taken by shareholders whose shares
in HTT are held in the PEP, ISA and Share Savings Plan operated by Henderson
will be sent to shareholders together with the circular referred to above.

The Board of HTT acknowledges the assistance provided by Henderson in ensuring
a smooth handover of the management arrangements.
