Polymetal International plc (LSE: POLY) ( "Polymetal" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that on 17 June 2013 its ordinary shares (the "Shares") were the first among the shares of international issuers to be admitted to trading and included in the official quotation list on CJSC "MICEX Stock Exchange" ("MICEX"), a subsidiary of the Moscow Exchange.
The Shares will be traded under the ticker POLY in the Main Market segment (in the quotation list B), with quotation and settlement in Russian rubles. Trading in the Shares on MICEX is expected to commence on 20 June 2013.
"We are proud and excited to become the first international issuer listed in Russia. This event marks Polymetal's return to the Russian equity market and we are hopeful that our company will be very familiar to Russian investors, who previously traded JSC "Polymetal" shares on MICEX up until 2012. We expect that listing on the Moscow Exchange will help Polymetal broaden its investor base and attract various categories of Russian domestic institutional and retail investors, including those that were previously not able to hold Polymetal stock for regulatory or technical reasons. Listing on Moscow Exchange is also an important step towards potential re-inclusion of Polymetal in the MSCI Russia index, which is one of our top capital markets priorities", said Vitaly Nesis, the CEO of Polymetal.
Sberbank CIB has acted as Polymetal's financial advisor with respect to the MICEX listing. Sberbank CIB and OTKRITIE-Broker are acting as nominated market-makers in the Shares on MICEX.
