Contract win
Porvair today announces that its subsidiary, Porvair Filtration Group Ltd, has signed a long term agreement with Parker Aerospace ("Parker") to provide filtration systems for Parker's on-board aircraft fuel tank inerting systems. The agreement secures sales to Porvair of up to $40M over 10 years.
Porvair and Parker have been collaborating for several years on the development of aircraft fuel tank inerting systems. These systems, supplied by Parker, are incorporated into passenger aircraft such as those manufactured by Boeing and Airbus.
Parker's lightweight system removes oxygen from a source of engine bleed air with an air separation module (ASM), before delivering nitrogen-enriched air into the aircraft fuel tanks. These ASM modules are particularly sensitive to contamination and are protected by Porvair's filtration system. The implementation of fuel tank inerting has been the subject of global regulation.
Scott Pearson, Parker Aerospace Fluid Systems Division Business Unit Manager of Fuel and Inerting, commented:
"Our alignment with Porvair as supplier of this critical filtration equipment is a testament to their technical capability and delivery performance to date. Their products ensure our inerting systems remain at the forefront of the technology."
Ben Stocks, Chief Executive of Porvair, said:
"This agreement comes towards the end of a good year for Porvair and is the result of many years of investment in new products. It is testament to the excellent design and engineering undertaken by the Porvair Filtration Group in Fareham. We are delighted to work with Parker on existing and future projects".
