Porvair plc - Transaction in Own Shares

Porvair plc announces that on 15 December 2006 it purchased, to be held in
treasury, 4,041 Ordinary 2p Shares (representing 0.01% of the issued Share
Capital), at a price of 122p per Ordinary Share. The shares have been purchased
to satisfy grants under employee share plans.

Following the purchase of the 4,041 Ordinary Shares, the total number of
treasury shares held by the Company will be 4,041. The issued share capital of
the Company, less the total number of Ordinary Shares held in Treasury, will be
40,570,540 Ordinary 2p Shares.
