Granting of GB Patent Application

Powerhouse Energy Group Plc (AIM: PHE), a company pioneering integrated technology that converts non-recyclable waste into low carbon energy, is pleased to announce that it's GB Patent Application No GB1910309.2; "Treatment of waste producing recirculated combustible" has been granted.

This patent gives intellectual property protection in the UK around the utilisation of recirculated synthesis gas to heat one or more chambers and the utilisation of recirculated synthesis gas to provide electrical power via a gas generator to increase the efficiency of the process and allow the process to be "self-sustaining" when in operation, by removing the reliance on an external gas source.

This is another significant milestone for Powerhouse providing validation of the work undertaken by the team on its technology to create a novel solution that will allow Powerhouse to disrupt the clean energy market.

The UK, in particular, is expected to become a key market and the granting of patent protection is therefore an extremely important step for the Company. Powerhouse are already in discussions with a number of clients, from a diverse range of industries and sectors, each of which require a solution for their waste whilst seeking to reduce their reliance on virgin fossil fuels.

The Company also looks forward to progressing its other patent applications within Europe and the rest of the world.

Paul Emmitt, CEO of PHE commented:

"We are delighted to have secured this GB patent, which will allow us to accelerate the development of commercial applications for our technology.  This also validates the engineering work that has gone into getting us to this point, and the Company's continuous drive towards our first commercial application."

This announcement contains inside information for the purposes of the UK version of the market abuse regulation (EU No. 596/2014) as it forms part of United Kingdom domestic law by virtue of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018, as amended.
