Factory Fire at Bury St Edmunds
Premier Foods plc reports there has been a fire overnight at its Bury St Edmunds
factory. The local fire service has advised that the fire has been extinguished
and there were no injuries. Although it is too early to assess the extent of the
damage, the business is comprehensively covered by insurance both for loss of
assets and business disruption after a £1m excess.
The factory at Bury St Edmunds produces Branston sweet and sour pickles,
Haywards pickles, Waistline, Loyd Grossman sauces and a range of own label table
and cooking sauces.
A Premier Foods team is on site to assess the position and a further
announcement will be made as soon as possible.
