PRODUCT RECALL UPDATE
Premier Foods plc has been conducting an investigation into the contamination of
Chilli Powder that resulted in the recall of a number of products on 18th
February, 2005. We have now identified two further products made by Premier that
are affected : Branston Hot and Spicy Sweet Pickle - 310g and Branston Rich and
Fruity Sauce - 250g. We are recalling these products at once as a precautionary
measure and have notified the Food Standards Agency. Production of Branston Hot
and Spicy Sweet Pickle ended in early 2004. Sales of these products amounted to
approximately £1m in 2004. These are retail products and are not supplied to our
food ingredients customers. No other Branston products are affected by this
recall. We will provide further updates as appropriate.
