Amendment Additional Listing

The issuer advises that the following replaces the 'Additional Listing'
announcement released today, 7 June 2001, at 10:02, under RNS number 8501E.

The additional listing should refer to Ordinary shares of 5p each and not
Ordinary shares of 10p each as previously stated. All other details remain
unchanged. The full amended text appears below.

                        Prudential plc ('the Company')

Application has been made to the Financial Services Authority and the London
Stock Exchange Plc for a total of 6,000,000 Ordinary shares of 5p each
('shares') to be admitted to the Official List. It is expected that admission
will be granted on 11 June 2001 and trading will commence on 12 June 2001

These share are being reserved under a block listing and will be issued
pursuant to the following scheme:

When issued these shares will rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary
shares.
