PRUDENTIAL APPOINTS NEW FINANCE DIRECTOR
Prudential Corporation plc has today appointed Les Cullen
(47) as group finance director. He joins the company
from Inchcape Plc where he had been group finance
director since 1997. Prior to that he spent five years
as group finance director of De La Rue plc.
Jonathan Bloomer, deputy chief executive, has been group
finance director of Prudential since 1995 and moved to
his present role in May 1999. He said: 'We are
delighted to have attracted someone of Les' calibre and
experience. We have achieved some very significant
changes within Prudential in the last few years and have
ambitious plans for the future. We believe that Les
will play a key role in continuing to move the group
forward and look forward to working with him.'

Les Cullen attended George Heriot School, Edinburgh and
graduated with a BSc.(Hons) degree from Southampton
University in Economics. He is a Certified Accountant
and has an MBA from Cranfield. Prior to joining De La
Rue Company he was at Grand Metropolitan Plc and Black
and Decker Inc. - both for six year periods. In
addition to the UK he has worked in Italy and Australia.
