PRUDENTIAL PLC BOARD CHANGES
Prudential plc today announced changes to its main Board.
Derek Higgs, chairman of M&G, Prudential's European asset
management business, will resign from the Board at the end
of November 2000. He has been Chairman of Prudential's
investment business since February 1996. Michael McLintock,
Chief Executive of M&G, will join the Board of Prudential on
1 September 2000.
Jonathan Bloomer, Group Chief Executive of Prudential plc,
said: 'We are sorry to lose Derek from our Board but are
glad that he will continue his connection with Prudential as
one of our nominated Directors of Egg. We are grateful to him
for his considerable role in reshaping Prudential over the
last five years, in particular as architect of the
acquisition of M&G.'

Notes:
Derek Higgs was appointed Chairman of Prudential Portfolio
Managers and a Director of Prudential plc in 1996. Prior to
joining Prudential plc, Derek spent 24 years with the
S.G.Warburg Group as a member of the parent company board.
At Warburgs, Derek had extensive experience of M&A and
financing transactions for a wide range of important UK
companies and issuers. He was worldwide head of Corporate
Finance from 1986 until 1994 when he was appointed Chairman
of S.G.Warburg & Co Ltd, the banking and corporate finance
arm of the Warburg group.
Derek is Chairman of Business in the Environment, Deputy
Chairman of the City of London Festival and a Director of
Coventry City Football Club. He is also a member of the
Financial Reporting Council of the UK and Deputy Chairman of
the Fund Managers Association. Derek is a Trustee of The
Architecture Foundation and a Non-Executive Director of
Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated. He has recently been
appointed as Chairman of Partnership UK.
Michael McLintock is currently Chief Executive of M&G,
Prudential's European asset management business. He became
Chief Executive of M&G in February 1997 and held that
position at the time of M&G's acquisition by Prudential, in
March 1999.
Prior to joining M&G in 1992, Michael worked for Barings,
and prior to that Morgan Grenfell, the firm he joined as a
graduate in 1983.
