Reference price for scrip dividend alternative to 2000 interim dividend

Prudential plc announces that the reference price for the fully paid extra
shares to be issued to shareholders who elected for the scrip alternative for
the 2000 interim dividend, is 1035.4 pence per share.  This price is
calculated in accordance with the terms of the circular to shareholders dated
16 October 2000.

Application will be made for the extra shares to be admitted to the Official
List.  It is expected that such listing will become effective and that dealing
in the extra shares will commence on 30 November 2000.
