Egg plc


This announcement is to correct the inaccurate information reported in some of
the media this morning.

As a direct result of the advanced fraud prevention systems deployed at Egg,
we have been able to provide information to the National Crime Squad enabling
them to make arrests.

Egg's systems detected these attempted frauds before any losses were incurred.
No loss was therefore suffered by Egg or any of its customers.

We are pleased with the performance of our systems and our ability to work
with the Police to prevent fraud.

We confirm Egg's security remains unbreached and customers' money is secure.
