QinetiQ Board change

QinetiQ Group plc today announces that Sir David Lees, who has been Deputy Chairman and senior independent director of the QinetiQ Board since 2005, has announced his intention to retire from the Board on 31 January 2012.

Michael Harper has joined the QinetiQ Board as a non-executive director with effect from 22 November 2011.  Following Sir David's retirement, Michael will become the Group's Deputy Chairman and senior independent director.  Michael is a non-executive director of the BBA Aviation plc Board, which he joined in February 2005, becoming Chairman in June 2007.  He is an engineer by training and has a wealth of experience gained as a director of Williams plc where, on the demerger in 2000, he became Chief Executive of Kidde plc.  Michael is Chairman of both the Vitec Group plc and Ricardo plc.

Commenting on today's announcement Mark Elliott, Chairman of QinetiQ, said:

"I would like to thank Sir David for his invaluable contribution to the Board. He brought extensive experience of the City and the world of corporate governance, combined with an illustrious corporate career.  Personally, I have enjoyed working with him and found his counsel very valuable.  On behalf of my Board colleagues, we wish him the very best for the future." 

He added:  "Today, we have also announced that Michael has joined the Board, bringing a depth of operational and corporate experience.  I look forward to him making a significant contribution to the QinetiQ Board."

There are no other matters requiring disclosure under LR 9.6.13.
