Board Changes

 

QinetiQ Group plc ('QinetiQ') today announces that Noreen Doyle, who has been a Non-executive Director since October 2005 and Chair of the Remuneration Committee since August 2009, has advised of her intention to retire from the Board with effect from the end of the Company's Annual General Meeting on 22 July 2014.

 

Following Noreen's departure, Michael Harper, Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director, will become Chair of the Remuneration Committee.

 

QinetiQ further announces the appointment of Ian Mason as a Non-executive Director of QinetiQ with immediate effect.  On appointment, Ian will become a member of the Audit, Remuneration, Nominations, Risk & CSR and Security Committees.  He is Group Chief Executive of Electrocomponents plc, a post he has held since 2001, having joined the company in 1995.

 

Commenting on today's announcement, Mark Elliott, Chairman of QinetiQ, said:

 

"I would like to thank Noreen for her invaluable contribution to the Board.  Noreen has been a member of the Board from the Company's earliest days and provided great value as QinetiQ began its conversion from the public sector to a commercial organisation.  In addition, she has brought extensive international business and corporate finance experience to the Company.  We wish her the very best for the future."

 

He added:  "Today we have also announced that Ian Mason has joined the Board, bringing considerable experience in strategy, business transformation and international development.  I look forward to working with Ian, and to the contribution he will bring to the QinetiQ Board."

 

There are no other matters requiring disclosure under LR 9.6.11 and LR 9.6.13.
